Munshi

The problem

India's kirana stores, chai stalls and neighborhood cafés run on memory, a notebook and UPI alerts. Business software exists, but it's in English, full of forms and made for accountants. So owners never know which products make money, what's about to expire, or how much credit is out.

The insight

The owner doesn't need another app to learn. They need a munshi, the trusted clerk shops once had, whom they can just talk to.

What we built

A mobile app where the owner speaks or types in everyday Hindi. An AI agent works out what they want, queries the shop's own records and answers back in spoken Hindi. Behind the conversation sit inventory with expiry tracking, sales logging by cash, UPI or credit, barcode scanning and a simple analytics dashboard.
